A Feast of Faith: The Story of Our Harvest Dinners
From the humble beginnings in a little white schoolhouse in 1894 to today’s vibrant ministry, Church of the Pines has always gathered around food and fellowship.
In the 1950s, while raising funds to build our new church, the first Harvest Dinner was held—a community meal that became a cherished annual tradition for more than four decades. Hundreds of volunteers prepared incredible feasts—turkey, roast beef, mashed potatoes, pies, and more!—all to support the growing ministry of the church.
This year, nearly 70 years after the first Harvest Dinner, we’re reviving this beloved tradition on Saturday, November 8, 2025, celebrating the faith, generosity, and teamwork that have always defined Church of the Pines.
The funds raised will support our mission to fight food insecurity locally and around the world.
Thanks be to God—for our past, our present, and our future together!
