Advent Worship Services
December 1: First Sunday of Advent
Scripture: Mark 1:1-8
Theme: Prepare the Way. Advent is an invitation to join a journey to celebrate the birth of Christ. We begin our journey by taking the time to prepare, to slow down, and to get ready for Jesus to be present in our lives. What distracts you during this season? What are you eager for?
December 8: Second Sunday of Advent
Scripture: Matthew 1:18-2:6
Theme: A Real Need. This Week of Advent, we see two different reactions to a difficult situation by two different men. Through this, we see the real need for Jesus in our world so often ruled by fear, pride, and power. We must follow Jesus to offer the peace and hope our world desperately needs.
December 15 - Third Sunday of Advent
Christmas Puppet Show entitled "The Christmas Gift Exchange" is presented by the Wednesday Church School Youth.
Scripture: Luke 1:26-38
December 22 - Fourth Sunday of Advent
Scripture: John 1:1-8
Theme: Seeing the Light. As we move into the last week of Advent, we also move into the darkest time of the year. It is a time to light all the candles and see the light. The Gospel of John proclaims the light of Christ is coming and is already shining. Do you see it? Do you feel the light of Christ's love shining in the darkness of our world? How can you share this light with others?
Christmas Eve Worship Services - 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
On this Christmas Eve night, we light candles and come seeking hope, peace, joy, and love, and we find these things in a child. God makes flesh as a baby in a manger. A baby who is both the beginning and the end of our salvation, who dwells with us even now, our Emmanuel, God with us.
