"I can do all things through him who strengthens me." - Philippians 4:13
We all run out of strength sometimes. It just happens. Our natural energy and enthusiasm are limited. As believers, we have unlimited potential, though. We have a source of strength beyond ourselves. It's there for the asking if you've run out of strength today. Even if today has only begun.
"And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them." - Luke 6:31
Compassion is the foundation of our faith. Our foundation because we received it from God. But also our foundation because it shows what we really believe, that we really care and that our faith makes a difference. Live out your faith today.
"The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear." - Psalm 118:6
This is a basic truth that's easy to forget. I don't know about, you, but I get scared easily. The world can be a scary place with all the anger and frustration we see in it. Be assured. The Lord is with you today. You are his beloved.
"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you."
- Ephesians 4:32
What does it cost you to be kind to someone? It really doesn't matter if you feel warmly towards them or if you disagree with everything they stand for. Kindness is a reflection of God's grace to us. Share it.
"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for man." - Colossians 3:23
We are asked to do so much. Some of it we want to do, some we don't. Some of it is for us and some are for others. Of all the work we have to do, we are reminded to do it with a good heart, just like we were doing it for God. Remind yourself of that today when you have to the work you like the least.
Jesus looked at them and said, "With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God." - Mark 10:27
Life just seems impossible sometimes. We have so many expectations to fulfill - from others, from ourselves, from life. Jesus simplified all that when he came. He told us plainly, yes, with us, many things are impossible. With God, though, all things are possible. Are you willing to believe that today?
"Never stop praying." - Thessalonians 5:17
Sometimes it's just not easy to pray. In those times, and even other times, just pray. You will never regret spending time talking to God.
"So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today." - Matthew 6:34
What keeps you up at night? Are you worried about all those things in life that don't seem to line up and all those things that just don't work right? Do you really think all those things are bigger than God's strength and love for you? Really?
"I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken." - Psalm 16:8
No matter what happens today - if it goes bad, it goes great, if I fall down, if I win a race - no matter what, you will not be shaken. Nothing can take you out of God's right hand.
"But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:8
Who could love you more than God? He knows everything about you. Your best moments, he knows them. Those dark, hidden secrets you hide from everyone, he knows them, too. Even though he knows all that, he loves you. He loves you enough to sacrifice himself for you. That's an amazing kind of love.
