"Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him." - Proverbs 30:5

What woud your friendships be like if you knew that people always told you the truth? Would you be more trusting? God is that kind of friend. He tells us exactly what we face in life. All we have to do is listen.

god turns my darkness into light

"For it is you who lights my lamp; the LORD my God lightens my darkness." - Psalm 18:28

Without the light, we can't see. Our lives don't have meaning or clarity. Then God shows up with his light. Its warm glow fills our lives, casting shadows. You can choose today to live in the light, look at what it shows, or you can choose to live in the shadows. The choice is yours.

"Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony." - Colossians 3:14

As you get yourself ready for the day, don't forget the most important article of clothing for you and everyone else. Love is the best accessory you can wear.

"Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. - James 4:8

With all the extra time you have through Summer, don't forget to save some of that time to draw near to your maker. If you do, he will draw near to you.

when you go through deep waters i will be with you

"When you go through deep waters, I will be with you When you go through rivers of difficulty, you wll not drown. When you walk through the fire of opperssion, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you." - Isaiah 43:2

Oceans can be creepy. Deep waters hide things. The prophet Isaiah realized this. When we find ouselves in deep waters, where we can't see what might be underneath us, God is there.  He promises that we will not be alone. Sometimes that's our biggest need - just knowing that we have someone with us who cares.

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what the will of God is, what is good and acceptable and perfect." - Romans 12:2

All significant changes happen when we are willing to let go. If we want to know how amazing God is, we must be willing to let go of the world and its ways. What will you let go of today?

"Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given to you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you." - Timothy 4:14

Long ago, you were given a gift. It was given to you by the person who created you, and it was given for a purpose. It's up to you to decide how to use it.

"And he who was seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." Also he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."
-Exodus 14:13

At the end of time, God says something important. He says it needs to be written down because it's so important. The message? He's making everything new. All the awful things of this world, will be made right one day. Are you ready?

"Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart."
- Proverbs 3:3

Farmers provide the best experiences for things to grow. That's what it means to cultivate. Kindness grows around us when we provide the best experiences for people. Do that today.

"For the LORD takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation."

Some people think of God as a harsh judge, but that's not true. Remind yourself today that God takes pleasure in you. He wants to spend time with you. Will you take some time for him today?
