"The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! - John 1:29
It seems a little silly for us to think of Jesus as a lamb. The smallish, fuzzy animal that kind of stinks in the petting zoo. The people who heard this originally understood it differently, though. The lamb was the sacrifice for sins. They do it. But then, the rest of the sentence was understandable then. "Takes away the sin of the world"? That didn't make sense then. Does it make sense to you?
