Review of Impact: Special Mission Focus 2024:
Increasing food security in our
community and throughout the world.

Last fall, Paul Webster, a retired missionary to Zambia, preached in worship about the far-reaching effects of the Mujila Falls Agricultural Center. He used the metaphor of ripples on water spreading outward to describe the center's work. It was a powerful message that reminded us that any action increasing food security has a far-reaching impact.

Ripples spreading outward is a good way of describing our first year of increasing food security. The ripples all come from the dedicated people of the Church of the Pines with a passion for feeding the hungry who donated time, food, and money to our community and beyond.

In 2024, we made an impact through learning, serving, and giving.

Learning
  • Hunger at Our Doorstep Classes helped 21 people learn more about what the Bible  says about feeding the hungry.
  • The congregation learned about our Mission Focus through Change for Hunger.
  • Paul Webster shared about Mujila Falls in worship.

Serving
  • 50+ volunteers served in a variety of activities to increase food security.
  • Over 600 volunteer hours were shared
  • That equates to over $18,800 in volunteer hours.

Giving
  • $9,114 was donated to increase food security!
  • Change for Hunger – loose change offerings totaled $1,006.83!
  • Every dollar donated equals four meals.
  • Church of the Pines is helping to provide 36,456 meals to hungry people!

Church of the Pines made an impact on hunger in 2024.
We will continue this effort in the coming years, knowing that what we do today has far-reaching implications worldwide.
The ripples of change will continue to spread.
