Rooted and Rising is a Social Service Organization founded by the United Methodist Church. It was formerly called United Methodist Children's Services. The organization officially changed its name to Rooted & Rising - Washington Park in October 2023. The new name was adopted to better reflect the organization's evolving mission and its deep connection to the Washington Park neighborhood. The agency, initially founded in 1962, received support from the Wisconsin Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. It found its home in Milwaukee's Washington Park neighborhood in the early 1990s. Since its inception, Rooted and Rising has helped serve the community's housing, childcare, food security, and other needs. They pride themselves on connecting individuals and families with resources to meet their future needs.
