An Evening of Hospitality, Fellowship, and Inspiration at Church of the Pines 🚴♀️
What a joy it was to welcome the Fuller Center Bicycle Adventure riders to Church of the Pines this afternoon!
After cycling an incredible 100 miles today, the riders arrived in Minocqua, reaching about the halfway point of their cross-country journey. Following much-appreciated showers at Lakeland Fitness & Golf in Woodruff, they returned to Church of the Pines ready to enjoy a well-earned supper and an evening of fellowship.
Members and friends of our congregation were delighted to prepare and serve a delicious meal of pulled pork loin sandwiches, fresh fruit, vegetables, brownies, and more. Around the tables, new friendships were formed as the cyclists shared stories of their adventure, what inspired them to join the Fuller Center Bicycle Adventure, and the communities they had encountered along the way.
The group truly reflects the spirit of this ministry. Riders have come from throughout the United States—and even from England! Some are experiencing their very first cross-country ride, while others have returned for their fourth, fifth, or even later Bicycle Adventure.
One especially memorable moment came when the rider from England sat down at the piano in our Ministry Center and delighted everyone by playing several original compositions. It was a beautiful reminder that the journey is about much more than miles traveled—it's about sharing our gifts, building friendships, and celebrating God's work together.
The Fuller Center Bicycle Adventure raises both funds and awareness to help provide safe, affordable housing for families in need throughout the United States and around the world. Along their journey, the cyclists also have opportunities to volunteer on home-building projects, putting their faith into action in tangible ways.
Tonight, these dedicated riders will enjoy a good night's rest at Church of the Pines before rising around 5:00 a.m. for breakfast, lovingly prepared by another team of church volunteers. Then they'll be back on the road for another 100-plus-mile day as they continue their remarkable journey across America.
We are deeply grateful that Church of the Pines could be a small part of their adventure. Their dedication, perseverance, and servant hearts are an inspiration to us all.
Let's give these amazing cyclists a round of applause! Thank you for the difference you are making—one mile, one home, and one life at a time. We pray for God's blessing and safe travels as you continue your journey.

What a Wonderful Strawberry Sunday!
Thank you to everyone who made this year's Strawberry Sunday such a memorable day! A special thank you to our Men's Groups for preparing a fantastic meal and serving our church family with such care and hospitality. We are grateful to the women who baked the delicious angel food cakes, to the men who picked the fresh strawberries, and to every volunteer who helped decorate, prepare, serve, clean up, and work behind the scenes. Your time, generosity, and servant hearts made this event possible. Most of all, thank you to everyone who joined us. Your presence, laughter, and fellowship made the day truly special. It was a joy to gather around the table, share a wonderful meal, and enjoy one of our favorite church traditions together. We are blessed by such a caring church family. Thank you for making Strawberry Sunday another sweet success! Take a look at some photos from this special Church of the Pines event. |
