There were two successful Pie Sales for United Women in Faith of the United Methodist Church of the Pines this summer! In total, eighty-two pies were lovingly baked and sold on June 27th and July 18th to raise funds for the organization's mission. The money will be donated to numerous local and regional organizations that provide programs and services that improve people's lives. |

Fabulous food...Fantastic Fellowship... Festive Fun!
Thanks to all who attended Strawberry Sunday at Church of the Pines on June 22nd. "Hats off" to the Men's Group of the church for organizing the picnic lunch and for preparing and grilling burgers and brats. Seventy members and friends of the church enjoyed the meal and fellowship. Thank you to those who baked angel food cakes. The special strawberry, angel food cake, and ice cream dessert was scrumptious! |

Church of the Pines Men's Group Recently Built a Porch to
Help a Member of the Church
Help a Member of the Church
This past week, a group from the Church of the Pines Men's Group built a new porch at the home of one of our church members. The Men's Group of the church was first organized in 1950, during the construction of the new church, as they utilized their collective skills to help build the church. For over 75 years, the Men's Group has undertaken projects to maintain and improve the interior and exterior of our church building. They organize events such as church picnics, pancake breakfasts, church cleaning days, and seasonal yard clean-up days. The group is organizing our Strawberry Sunday, which is this coming Sunday, when they will be grilling brats and burgers and preparing a special strawberry dessert for the church's annual picnic gathering in the Ministry Center. Periodically, this multi-talented and skilled group of men undertakes construction and other projects to help our church members. They know how to have fun, enjoy fellowship as they meet monthly for breakfast, and are committed to serving others. Take a look at the photos of their most recent project of building a porch for one of our church members, Clayton Crum. Church of the Pines is blessed to have such a dedicated and talented group of men. The project was led by Jerry Weber, chairman of the church Trustees. Thanks to the follow men for helping with the Porch Project: Jim Anderson, Joe Augitto, Skip Bassett, Ron Capacio, Clayton Crum, Larry Duffee, Tom Frandy, John Lightfoot, John McCadden, Loran Susor, and Jerry Weber. Thank you, also, to John Lightfoot and Tom Frandy for taking the photos!

Introducing CONNECT: Discover the joy that comes from building meaningful connections with fellow members and friends of our church community. Imagine a supportive partner system where newer members of our church can be paired with those who have been part of our congregation for a long time. The CONNECT Ministry, spearheaded by Sara Kozeluh and Deb Harris, aims to cultivate a warm and welcoming environment, foster relationships, and ensure that all members feel a sense of belonging and care as we grow together in faith.
You may be new to the church and would like to get to know some other members of our church family. Or maybe you aren’t able, for whatever reason, to attend church worship services or be involved in church activities like you used to be able to do and would welcome visits from members of your church family. Whatever your situation, CONNECT may be perfect for you!
To learn more about CONNECT and how you can become linked with someone to visit or to request a visit from one of our CONNECT Ministry members, contact Sara Kozeluh at 715-482-4089 or [email protected].

In 2023, the Church of the Pines reflected on how it was living out its mission of making and growing disciples of Jesus Christ to love and serve the world. In that time, we worked to develop a mission focus that would help us live this mission out.
We identified an ongoing passion within the congregation for working to feed the hungry in our community and worldwide. It was an easy process then to develop our four-year mission focus of increasing food security in our community and throughout the world. Part of that special mission focus is to share our impact each year with the congregation.
As you will see, we have had a real impact in 2024, and we will continue in the years to come! For more information, click below.
